As far back as 50 years ago, big game lure making pioneers such as Henry Chee and George Parker created the early hawaiian style lures made from modern materials.

Trailblazing craftsmen since such as Joe Yee and Steve Coggins have continued in this tradtition and made Hawaii even more renowned as a center of big game lure innovation and artisanal craftsmanship.

The Santos design team is inspired by this spirit of innovation. It is our mission to create the highest quality, best producing lures possible by employing the most current technologies while staying true to the Hawaiian tradition.

Each Santos offshore trolling lure design has been precisely shaped, exhaustingly tested, and painstakingly balanced.  Our CAD created designs are unique in construction, hydrodynamic design, and action.

Once a prototype lure design has been created, they are subject to the rigors of the testing, refinement, and balancing phase.  Once a lure design is established, our precision molding techniques ensure that every lure possesses exactly the same design attributes. This is also achieved by the use of only the finest materials available. During curing our lures are subjected to precisely 178 degrees of heat,  and 60 PSI of pressure.  These controlled conditions ensure flawless optical clarity, product consistency, and the ultimate in lure durability. 

Santos lures come out of their molds as smooth as glass.  No laborious sanding and buffing is required. This contrasts to luremakers who employ polyester, or epoxy resins; no two can ever be truly alike.

We hand cast each lure from BJB urethane resin made right here in the USA.  Their hardest and most UV resistant formulation is employed. This is by far the most expensive water clear resin on the market, but it's also by far the best. 

Genuine Paua and Awabi shell are use to create our weighted lure inserts. We custom color our own in-house.

We employ keel weighting and precision balancing with our proprietary LCM LibraTech(TM technology. Our lures always run upright which allows fishing at higher speeds and with proper hookset orientation.

Hookset orientation and securement is further achieved with our RigLock(TM)  technology.

We only use Ocean Lure Concepts skirts made in the USA. These are more expensive compared to imported skirts, but when does the ultimate in quality ever come cheaply? These skirts are the best on the market and definitely worth the extra expense.
